Trainer Tip #3: The first 30 minutes after exercise

Inspired by the process of obtaining my NASM Personal Trainer certification, I’m passing on weekly tidbits to help you find your own balanced health.


Trainer Tip #3:

After exercising strenuously or for more than hour, make sure to replenish your glycogen stores (stored energy in your muscles) within 30 minutes. Eat something with carbs (for replenishment) and protein (for muscle recovery).

Chocolate milk, apple or banana with peanut butter, or a fruit smoothie with milk, yogurt, or protein powder are all great options.
