If you are a Christian woman trying to figure out how to invest in your family, faith and career without sacrificing your sanity, this episode is for you. I'm speaking with Diane Paddison, founder of 4Word Women, an organization that leads, connects, and supports women in the workplace to help them achieve their God-given potential with confidence.

How boundaries, community, and mentorship can grow your faith and career with 4Word Women’s Diane Paddison

Have you ever been able to look back in your life and realize you took for granted the incredible people or situations you encountered? In 1997 I graduated from Oklahoma State and began my career working as a Marketing Analyst at Trammell Crow Company, a commercial real estate firm. This particular job supported the role of the national accounts manager, who was in charge of developing and maintaining relationships with the companies top 20 accounts (that generated a significant portion of the company’s revenue).

My boss was a woman named Diane Paddison. I loved working for her then but can look back with a few years under my belt and more wisdom and see just how incredible she was.

I stayed in that role for about three years then transitioned to a different company, but Diane and I have stayed in loose contact since then. Diane continued to grow her career, serving on the global executive teams of two Fortune 500 and one Fortune 1000 companies, CBRE, ProLogis, and Trammell Crow Company, respectively, during her 25 year commercial real estate career and was the only women in all three cases.  She serves as an Independent Director on a corporate board and on the boards of four not for profit boards.

Diane then shifted her energy and founded 4Word Women in 2011 which has served 750,000 women in the workplace in its first ten years.  She is a wife, mom of four, and grandmother of two, her favorite title.

This was a full circle moment for me as I got to ask her questions from our time together about how she managed to promote a healthy lifestyle despite a packed work and travel schedule, but also her new passion of leading, connecting, and supporting women in the workplace to help them achieve their God-given potential with confidence. We talk about the importance of being in community and having mentors in order to encourage you around spiritual, relational, professional health tied to physical health. This was such a special conversation for me and I know you’ll gain several applicable tools to support your own journey.
