Finding health, self care and grace in being a pastor, wife, and mother with Reverend Donna Owusu-Ansah

One of the funnest aspects of podcasting is the excuse to “meet” friends I’ve made online. It would be weird if I reached out and said, “hey, want to have a phone conversation?” without a purpose.

Podcasting gives me that purpose. What a great excuse, huh?

I’m so grateful for it, because in today’s episode I get to introduce you to Reverend Donna Owusu-Ansah. Reverend Donna and I met a few years ago and I’ve enjoyed watching her intersect her roles as a pastor, wife, mother, and runner.

I was curious how her movement impacted her other roles and invited her on the show to discuss it. When we hung up, my soul was filled. I can’t wait for you to hear all her wisdom.

In today’s episode we discuss:

  • Her path from being an art teacher to a pastor
  • Finding health, self care and grace in being a pastor, wife, and mother
  • Practicing self care when all your responsibilities take so much
  • The power of being outside and moving
  • Running as a spiritual discipline as a well as a sport
  • Managing the role as being “Reverend Runner Mother” in her Black Girls Run community
  • Where to start when you don’t know where to begin taking care of yourself
