How do I know if I’m healthy?

Health is a multifaceted concept. In this podcast episode, we delved into the significance of personal wellness, particularly focusing on feeling and functioning well. Our health journeys are unique, much like our encounters with life, and it’s high time we recognized and embraced this.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to health. Just as we have unique traits and circumstances, our health journeys are equally unique. We should apply our critical thinking skills, discern what is sustainable and realistic, and find what makes us feel and function well. It’s not about looking or weighing a certain size, it’s about using our incredible, God-given bodies to do what we were designed to do.

How does food impact how I feel and function?

Feeling and functioning well is a profound and integral aspect of health. As I adjusted my lifestyle and eating habits to improve my overall well-being, I discovered the profound impact of nutrition on immunity, mood swings, and even reducing stress and shame over what we consume. We need to prioritize our health and cherish our bodies, rather than fixating on physical appearance.

One critical aspect we need to understand is the profound impact of nutrition on our health. Proper nutrition can increase our immunity, decrease mood swings, and lessen stress and shame over what we eat. Furthermore, taking care of our bodies can enhance our functionality, allowing us to lift heavy objects without injury, for example.

What does “feel and function well” mean?

The importance of feeling and functioning well for our health cannot be overstated. Small changes to lifestyle and diet can significantly impact our wellbeing. This could mean adjusting our lifestyle to promote better health and sleep. Reflecting on how we would want our last days on earth to look like is an insightful exercise. Would we want to spend it worrying about our weight or cherishing our bodies and doing the things we love with the people we care about?

Personal health is a journey, and it’s one that we should navigate together, learning from each other’s experiences and insights, one day at a time. Remember, health is not about a physical appearance but about using our bodies to the best of our ability and living a fulfilling life.
