Unpacking post hysterectomy: What you need to know to feel better

Do you have one of those friends who will really tell it like it is? They are equal parts honest and caring and you trust what they say.

My guest today, Jessica Valant, is stepping in as that role when it comes to questions about hysterectomies.

Today we are focusing on our body after hysterectomy. Jessica graciously gives us the smart best friend version, as she experienced one herself at 42. As a physical therapist and pilates teacher, she acutely understands how the body works and thrives, and she provides the scoop on what to expect in our body after hysterectomy.

Just like with my interview last week with Erika Rucker, please be aware we get into some intricate and intimate details about hysterectomies, so this is your chance to choose the right time to listen and who is around when you do listen.

Speaking of all the muscles “down there”…

I can’t tell you how many conversations I’ve had with friends over the last six months that revolve around peeing while sneezing, coughing, or doing any high impact movements. One friend said when she walks too much her insides feel like they are dropping out and another has to be close to a bathroom at all times. Every time I tell them the same thing: you’ve got to get the Tighten Your Tinkler program.

You may remember my delightful conversation with the Tighten Your Tinkler girls, Jenn Lormand and Christina Walsh which was full of laughter about a heavy subject, pelvic floor health. I’ve personally gone through the program and am pleased to report I don’t have to stop and cross my legs when I sneeze anymore and even my nighttime bathroom trips have reduced. Look, I consider this an all-nighter! My nagging lower back issue is significantly better as well thanks to the program and tools they provided.

If you deal with any of these issues or more serious ones like prolapse, discomfort during or after intimacy, or need to get everything back in place after a hysterectomy, this program is for you. We want you to take back control of your body and regain your confidence. Jenn and Christina are the women you want in your corner and they’ve generously offered $50 off using the code GRACEDHEALTH. If you haven’t listened to our episodes, check them out below. As a bonus, this program is FSA and HSA eligible. Enroll here and use GRACEDHEALTH for $50 off.
