Saying Goodbye to the Graced Health Podcast: The Final Cool Down

This is my final episode of the Graced Health podcast after more than 500 episodes. On the podcast today, I’m sharing the personal journey that led to this decision — including the sudden loss of my dad, a season of grief, and a growing sense that God is calling me toward stillness, presence, and closer connection with the people in my life (especially my mom). Listen in to hear where I’ll be focusing my energy next.

There will be a few more things coming from me. I’ll be sending periodic thoughts by email — reflections on sabbath, on trust, on what it means to practice shalom in a noisy world. If you want to stay connected, the link to subscribe is below.

And if you haven’t listened to the Cool-Down series — the guest episodes leading up to this one — please go back and do that. I handpicked these women. I trust them. Their voices are ones I want in your ear going forward.

To every woman who has ever hit play on this podcast: thank you. Thank you for letting me be part of your commute, your morning walk, your kitchen cleanup. Thank you for trusting me with the tender questions. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

Personal Reflections: A Change in Life’s Rhythm

Life often throws curveballs, reminding us of the fragility and preciousness of time. Earlier this year, my father passed away suddenly. This event shook my world and prompted a period of reflection. During this time, my husband wisely observed that such events might bring about inner changes. He was right. Something in me shifted, a quiet realization that it was time for a new chapter.

Listening to a Subtle Whisper: Following a New Path

What’s fascinating and not at all surprising is that this transition has been in the making for a while. God had been planting small seeds over the past year, suggesting a change after 500 episodes. Initially, I dismissed this thought, buoyed by newfound energy in my work. Yet, the whisper of change persisted.

The Call to Be Still

Throughout my journey with Graced Health, I’ve learned the power and necessity of stillness. I believe I’m being called back into this stillness and trust—trust that God will guide my next steps, even if they remain unclear for now.

Letting Go and Trusting the Process

The biggest motivation for this transition is my desire to be present for my mother. Living 530 miles away, I want to be available in a more meaningful way as she navigates life without my father. It’s a call to genuine presence, both with her and in smaller, more intimate groups.

Presence over Production

This shift is more than just geographical. I feel a deep need to move from a focus on widespread broadcasting to being part of smaller, close-knit communities. It’s about being a true presence in the lives of those around me, valuing relationships and quality time over quantifiable metrics.

The Metric That Matters

In our digital world, success is often measured by numbers—downloads, subscribers, sales. But the metric that now matters to me is different: the quality of my relationships and my presence in people’s lives. That’s where I feel my true impact lies.

Practical Details and Future Communication

While this podcast chapter is closing, the content will remain available online. As for what comes next, I will keep you updated through my newsletter, ‘Nourishing Notes’. I may not email often, but I will share my thoughts and experiences as they unfold.

A Thankful Farewell

In closing, I want you all to know that you are capable of discerning what is best for your life and body. You don’t need me to guide you. You’ve acquired enough wisdom and grace throughout this journey together to continue thriving.

Let’s move forward with grace and strength. I trust we will all find ourselves where we are meant to be, on the other side of life’s many rivers.

Thank you for your time, trust, and companionship along this journey. Until we meet again, go out there and have a graced day.
